Forest Walks Lodge Eco-accommodation and Guided Walks

Forest Walks Lodge, on the edge of the world heritage area, is the perfect place to unwind from a busy city lifestyle. It accommodates six guests in three ensuite double bedrooms. A family room is also available. All meals are provided in-house from local fresh ingredients. Walks through majestic ancient forest depart from the front door.

The lodge allows you to immerse yourself in the natural environment. From the lodge you can observe the surrounding mountains, wildlife and the Tasmanian World Heritage area. Step outside and you are only three minutes from the forest itself, or stroll down to the nearby stream.

Guided walks depart daily from the lodge, led by people with extensive knowledge of the Tasmanian ecology. You can hire a bicycle and ride to local walking tracks and fishing spots. The historic township of Deloraine is nearby with a variety of craft shops and galleries and an interesting cultural heritage.

The lodge is a sustainable building, almost entirely built from local and recycled materials as a solar passive house. All electricity is generated onsite and all waste is processed onsite.

The lodge is roughly 50 minutes’ drive (approximately 72 kilometres/45 miles) from both Launceston and Devonport.
